The kids are watching us

My wife and I hear from parents all of the time that their children are overweight and/or have mental health issues.

These issues have a very close relationship to each other whether we want to admit that or not.

If you expect to hand off your children to an expert, whether it is a fitness trainer or a therapist, and it yield results without doing your part, you are sorely mistaken.

Our children watch what we do and what we don’t do.

If you do not have a personal development practice you cannot expect your children to commit to their own.

You owe it to yourself, your children, and those you choose to surround yourself with something in your life to create a better version of who you are.

If you say that you are too busy then you are making yourself too busy to distract you from the responsibility to changing who you are and where you are at.

This same behavior is being modeled by others, namely, our children.

If you don’t value yourself enough to progress physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually do not expect anybody else that looks to you to manifest worth in themselves.

You don't need to do CrossFit or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but working on a practice to put effort in to express a development overall can be a beacon of inspiration to others.
